The Company:
The company designs, constructs, transports, installs and removes offshore facilities for the global oil and gas industry. During the last decades they have become a significant international player in the offshore oil and gas construction industry. The Group consists of two divisions, each with a specific role in the activities of the Group

The Role:
1 Function:
To manage and ensure the ordering, intake, administration, placing and/or distribution of purchased and requested (project) materials, consumables and/or equipment. This includes piping and structural equipment, electrical and instrumentation, client supplied and sub-contractor materials. Execute maintenance activities in order to provide the (internal and external) client with the required materials, consumables and/or equipment, timely and in good condition.
2 Responsibilities:
- To ensure adherence to Company Policy and procedures.
- To perform tasks which may be requested by management, from time to time.
- To perform tasks delegated by the Construction/Production/Project Managers.
- Quality, safety, health and environmental awareness (e.g. responsible for own and others safety).
- To monitor departmental costs against budget.
- To ensure that material is controlled according to the applicable procedures in particular incoming goods conform to purchase order/MMT’s and customs clearance is arranged for incoming goods where appropriate. Prepare material registers for material received, enter material receipt information into oracle and prepare/issue electronic MRR, ensure correct handling of goods, materials are marked for traceability and stock lists of material are maintained.
- To verify invoices for materials delivered.
- To control the authorised system documentation issued by the QA Department.
- To ensure correct implementation of the company quality, safety and environmental policy within the company and verify that the company quality, safety and environmental procedures are followed.
- To identify and report possible quality problems to the Company Management and recommend possible solutions for such problems.
- To ensure subcontractors receive materials to our procedure.
- To ensure O, S&D’s are raised.
- Arrange and co-ordinate transport to/from subcontractors/third parties.
- Ensure surplus project materials are scrapped in accordance with procedures/reconciled.
- Individual risk awareness within job role.

3 Authority:
- Authorisation levels as detailed in GP-04-01.
- To delegate tasks under responsibility.
- To approve timesheets and holidays.
- To verify expenses.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Competency Requirements:
- Successful SHE Induction.
- 3 years Material Control experience in the construction industry.
- - Planning & Organisational skills that enable the implementation of their duties and the company strategy.
- Communicate in a positive manner with subordinate staff and other departmental managers..
- An understanding of company Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental systems & programmes.
- Must be computer literate.

Training Requisite:
- Materials Science Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Computer Training Courses.
- Management and presentation courses.
- Appraisal courses.
- Safety awareness
- Mitrefinch training database.
