The Company:
Our global leading client is seeking highly skilled, experienced & capable contract international employees to work on a large multinational complex oil & gas project.

The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Materials Coordinator to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain Management from raw materials through item production, distribution, logistics, and material storage and handling. They work directly with Project Leads, Engineers, Designers, Fabricators and Construction contractors from project conception to project turnover to identify materials for procurement and support procurement plan development. They work to understand and clarify job requirements with emphasis on timelines necessary to meet project schedules. One of the most critical aspects of the job is their role as liaison between the Project Lead and the rest of PSCM (Materials Management, Procurement, and contracting where needed) to ensure all materials are purchased according to standard processes while meeting the needs of the project.
They assist in the creation and execution of the Project Procurement Plan as well as identifying and implementing effective methods to improve the materials management process. Other duties at this stage include supporting cost estimating and lead time for project material. Throughout the course of the project, they also have the ability to identify and maintain awareness/focus on key issues that might impact the project and are able to effectively communicate concerns to appropriate parties as well as provide options for resolution.

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain Management from raw materials through item production, distribution, logistics, and storage and handling.
Work directly with Project Leads, Engineers, Designers, Fabricators and Construction contractors from project conception to project turnover to identify and support procurement of all material. Works to understand and clarify job requirements with emphasis on timelines necessary to meet project schedules.
Act as a liaison between the Project Team Lead and PSCM
Assist in creation and execution of Project Procurement Planning leveraging standard P2P Processes, existing MM Stock Strategies, etc
Identify and implement effective methods to improve materials management process
Assist with cost estimation and lead time for materials
Meets with customer on a frequent basis to ensure that all performance requirements are meeting expectations
Ability to identify and maintain awareness/focus on key project issues that might impact the project and be able to effectively communicate concerns to appropriate parties as well as provide options for resolution
Provide training and guidance on the proper creation and routing of purchase requisitions utilizing standard process and stock item designations
Responsible for the timely and accurate review and processing of all Project Material requests
Identify cost saving opportunities and schedule improvements to projects by utilizing excess material, researching and presenting alternatives and substitutes to requisitioned materials and/or fabrication services
Process material requests considering all applicable factors and ensure corresponding purchase orders are completed in a timely manner
Adhere to BPXA MRO vendor agreements and procurement standards
Liason with QA/QC as needed to ensure that all material procured is in accordance with quality standards, specifications, and Approved Suppliers
Collaborate with expediters, freight forwarding, and buyers to maintain awareness of material status, vendor issues/delays and proactively work with engineering and the Project to identify and understand potential delays/impacts to project schedule
Liaison with Quality Assurance to ensure Technical Queries are resolved promptly
Work with Freight Forwarding for special material movement requirements and determine shipping method for all other material. Responsible for understanding, communicating and carrying out the requirements as set forth by the Freight Forwarding
Provide detailed material status reports to Engineering, Project Leads and as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
4 year Degree in business, finance, logistics preferred.

Minimum of a certain number of years experience in procurement, material coordination or supply chain position. Proficient understanding of the need for strong customer service both toward suppliers, manufacturers and internal customers is mandatory. Project support experience preferred.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Proficient in computer skills, Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access. Ability to work in a team environment and be committed to customer service, both internal and external while ensuring adherence to standard processes and have the courage to be drive improvements. Experienced in working with Web based applications. Strong communication skills both written and verbal mandatory. Experience working with Maximo preferred.
