The Company:
A global, diversified, upstream oil and gas company.

The Role:
Responsible to the Project Manager for overseeing the management of materials, corrosion and welding activities on the Project. To provide support to the project delivery streams within the Projects Department through the implementation of robust quality surveillance management principles and techniques.

Key Duties:

•Maintain the 'stage gate' processes through all phases of the project delivery system
•To work in accordance with the company’s project department management system.
•Provide technical assistance the development of the company’s project department management system.
•Remain abreast of legislative requirements.
•Approval, checking and preparation of design/engineering documentation.
•Develop and enhance processes and systems for wider use in the discipline.
•Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant codes, standards and procedures.
•Provide input to cost estimates and execution plans.
•Ensure technical integrity of all discipline deliverables on the project.
•Plan and maintain the discipline progress of the project.
•Report periodically progress status to the line and function reporting lines.
•Ensure all interfaces to other disciplines are clearly defined and correctly engineered.
•Maintain and develop current awareness of relevant engineering technology & codes and standards.
•Liaise with other disciplines, departments, project personnel and contractors.
•Serve as technical specialist in all matters relating to metallurgy, corrosion, welding, cathodic protection, non-destructive testing, and coatings.
•Provide comprehensive technical and engineering support to development subsea and topside projects.
•Provide comprehensive technical and engineering support related to design, manufacturer, fabrication and construction.
•Support project specifications, procedures and quality plans.
•Review contractor prepared design and mitigation plans, specifications, procedures, data sheets, for corrosion control measures, materials selection, and application, installation work scopes.
•Advise on fabrication, construction and installation techniques.
•Investigate and co-ordinate failure investigations and anomaly assessments.
•Attending contractor meetings and providing technical input related to the work scope activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Recognised university degree in a related materials engineering or metallurgy subject
