The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Manage early programme friction material selection projects in line with JLR standards, coordinating internal work and activities with suppliers and external resources. Detailed analysis of dynamometer and vehicle test data comparing supplier submissions against JLR requirements. Develop and validate dyno based test methods to support reduction of prototype vehicle requirements - Includes correlation and validation of new tests with current vehicle tests. Preparation of relevant JLR Test Procedures. Refine Engineering standards based on new test development and future attribute requirements. Develop, in collaboration with Brakes Quality, the implementation of the Brake Pad Quality Management Standards for current production. This also includes supporting the Foundation Brakes Lead Engineers with pad quality management during program development. Undertake cross car-line brake pad projects e.g. Pad compliance to OE and service, component and packaging requirements for environmental legislation such as US Copper elimination.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills Required:
Good project management and interpersonal skills - able to effectively coordinate test and development activities among multi-disciplinary teams

Experience Required:
Practical experience in either a materials engineering or automotive engineering environment

Education Required:
Graduate in engineering, materials or similar

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience Preferred:
Previous experience in automotive engineering and specifically braking would be an advantage
