The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland & Labrador.

The Role:
MAIN FUNCTIONS
• Serve as the expeditor / materials management interface between the Project Management Team(PMT) and Contractors’ organization to ensure critical equipment and materials are delivered on schedule to site.
• Work with Contractors to track, monitor, and push equipment / material delivery dates to meet the project’s schedule
• Assure timely communication of status and plans back to the Project Management Team (PMT)
• Provide leadership and oversight throughout procurement, manufacturing, fabrication, and delivery

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Act as PMT expediting & materials management expert, interfacing with Contractors’ materials management personnel
• Work with Contractors’ product groups, Materials Management teams, and Fabricators to obtain data and information that tracks and monitors equipment fabrication/manufacturing status and expected completion dates; expedite to meet project requirements
• Provide core competency/expert materials management consultation to project team
• Participate in project team meetings and report status
• Develop weekly reports that tracks progress, FAT schedule, projected delivery date (accounting for packing, customs, loading, transport), required delivery date, schedule float, and issues
• Immediately inform PMT if fabrication and delivery problems arise
• Identify issues and coordinate development of mitigation steps to meet required on-site dates
• Monitor freight forwarder delivery progress – track when goods are picked up, transport progress, arrival in-country, and customs clearance
• Continual communication with Contractors / Fabricators to confirm progress
• Audit Contractors’ tracking processes, tools, and materials management system
• Ensure final documentation is provided in a timely manner
• Assist with spare parts expediting as required
• Office based in St. Johns with travel as required; utilize site quality inspectors to obtain information where appropriate

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Strong coordination and interface capabilities
• 5+ years expediting-specific in oil & gas or equivalent industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with Internet, email and MS office (Word, PP & Excel)
• Proficient with Contractor Material Management System
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, reporting to multiple lines of authority
• Strong negotiating skills recommended
