The Company:
a major oil and gas operator

The Role:
Materials management specialists coordinate the supply of materials from the initial demand identification, through the point of purchase and all the way to deployment or use. They ensure that materials management is thoroughly integrated with other PSCM, SPU and logistics activities. They will assist in the develop of materials management strategies to meet customer needs by leveraging a network of supply partners, processes, tools and technology to provide the most advantageous cost within the optimal value proposition.

- Identify materials needs from demand source (e.g. well schematic, work packs, etc.)
- Work with engineering to confirm material spec’s for purchase of required material;
- Ensure requisitions for materials are converted into acceptable purchase order documents (performed by Buyers)
- Monitor supplier’s delivery dates to ensure all delivery dates are met and expedite materials as needed to meet a delivery date, 4 weeks prior to execution;
- Develops reports identifying delivery status information and maintains stakeholder/user communication on issues arising
- Organize and coordinate staging of materials as well as overseeing any other post-receipt activities such as fabrication, assembly, make-up/break up and kitting. Where necessary, will coordinate appropriate inspection and testing of received materials and equipment.
- Implements effective methods to improve materials management;
- Provides key performance indicators related to trends and activity updates

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years experience as buyer, engineer, or strong materials background in Upstream Oil & Gas materials
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of the business process areas of materials management, warehouse management, inventory processes, work management and supply chain •
- Experience with project deadlines, technical document review, read engineering documents, material take-offs, line specifications, QA/QC procedures/processes and staging needs;
- Ability to work effectively without direct supervision;
- Proven history of excellent customer service delivery
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Skillful application and use of Microsoft Excel and SAP
- Planning and organizational skills.
Local Candidates Preferred.
