The Role:
Our client are looking for a Materials Specialist to provide technical support to material control in setting up a competitive material data base in SAP system and act as the material focal point for Testing, Quality control, tendering, agreement and other related business with procurement and Engineering relative.

Key Responsibilities;

• Provide planning and Technical support to systems and procedures for material master creation and enhancement of all equipment and spare parts for Company operations, maintenance and codification of on-going expansion projects material activities.
• Ensure the inspection of Material, Piping, Fitting & Equipment according to international standards as ASMI, API 6A - API 6D - & API 598, 6D & 527, and apply the method of NDT testing when it is required.
• Developed and Ensure Quality Control Management in place to confirm all vendors have the quality control procedurs to ensures that, all the materials/equipment deliver to the Company meeting Specification.
• Review Materials Inspection and Preservation procedures according to the new technologies and knowhow and recommended the applicable methods.
• Reviews and recommend computer base system requirements, modifications and additions to the existing system and procedures. Provide advice and technical assistance on all aspects of materials standardization and classification to other staff within Materials and other departments as requested.
• Utilizes the Material Master Database, company standards, international standards & specifications to optimise efficiency. Constantly reviews the existing materials master procedure and make improvements/revisions when necessary. Monitors the Company’s inventory database in relation to spare parts & consumable items considering the companies and customers requirements and needs.
• Ensure effective Safety, environment and Quality control policies and programs, and carrying out specific duties and responsibilities related to the job as per Company policies, procedures, Management System Manual, Safety Manual and compliance with environmental protection standards and legislation.
• Coordinates with procurement department for the preparation of Tender documents and present to Large Tender Committee for the high value items. Also participate the agreement procedures and act as material focal point for daily needs of procurement queries from vendors.
• Supports company expansion project material teams, both database quality and procurement to review and upload the new material masters in SAP and assist for the new expansion project material receiving process and also identify duplicate spares against existing stock.
• Coordinates with maintenance and operations, regarding the evaluation of technical specification changes of Spare parts and Process chemicals and timely update Database with latest information’s.
• Develops Material classification techniques to meet the expansion project related new materials, to set up a high quality database benefit for an effective and reliable Material search facility for users, eliminate duplicate items which are created due to the ongoing activities to reduce Inventory values and to ease the agreement procedures.
• Coordinates with the Quality Assurance and Vendor Inspector on daily activates and ensure that all incoming materials are as per company standards and quality.
• Coordinates with Receipt & Dispatch supervisor and Warehouse supervisor and assist them to resolve the non-confirming stock material receipt and ensure the correctness of all stock materials.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Science or an Engineering discipline.

Minimum 8-10 years of diversified experience in the oil and gas industry in materials control, procurement and distribution using SAP.

Extensive experience in dealing with vendors, suppliers, contractors and consultants involved in the oil and gas industry.

Extensive experience in inspection field, engineering equipment and quality control management.

Good exposure and experience with Quality Management concepts, e.g. ISO 9000.

Computer literacy and very good knowledge of standard office software

Strong knowledge and experience with SAP

Good written and verbal English skills
