The Role:
Main Purpose of the Role

The Pre-Series Centre Manufacturing Feasibility Measurement Analysis Engineer is responsible for co-ordinating, supporting and consulting regarding measurement activities using all forms of measurement equipment. Ranging from 3D scanners and Coordinate measurement equipment to handheld measurement tools to accomplish tasks from single part check to complex whole vehicle capability studies and measurement analysis.

Scope of Role

- Coordination and Delivery of measurement activities in the Pre-Series Centre.
- Support the analysis of the measurement findings and provide recommendations as to root cause / solution options.
- Co-ordinate the fit and remove parts from vehicle / bucks as required.
- Co-ordination of equipment maintenance, 5S, training plans, team boards etc.
- Coordination / Acquisition of all required data.
- Identify customer requirements and ensure best practices are employed in any resulting measurement activities.
- The provision for, and validation of all reports created within the area to support measurement activities.
- Record, document and store all work in the standardised formats and locations.
- Provide training and technical knowledge support for associates working within the area.
- Keep area clean and tidy.


- The completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship or BTEC ONC or HNC in an Engineering discipline.
- A high level understanding of engineering drawings and the use of measuring equipment.
- Must be Team player who is able to interact with associates at all levels.
- Able to use measurement software.
- Ability to prioritise and plan workload, and to work without supervision on complex tasks.
- Flexibility in work patterns as the position may involve overtime/shift working in the future.


- Previous experience of interpreting engineering drawings is essential
- Experience in whole vehicle measurement analysis and coordination of systematic measurement activities.
- The use of measuring equipment is essential (further training in specific technologies will be given)
- Must have good competence with use of PC including software’s such as excel or word.
- The knowledge of or previous experience in Catia V5 is preferred.
