The Company:
A professional, construction, support and infrastructure services provider working in various market sectors all over the world.

The Role:
• Work with supply chain and partner relationships which add value and are complementary with our in house offer.
• Assist with estimates for external business
• Work independently and as part of the contract team as a whole to maximise opportunity.

Core Action
• Measurement, valuation of works ranging from small value to £3m
• Management of supply chain including final account reconciliation, and authorisation for payment.
• Ensure that they are kept up to date on all new legislation and best practice thinking and researching these where necessary
• Resolve commercial disputes at the appropriate level
• Assist in producing financial and management reports, including Highways repairs and large schemes
• Ability to Travel throughout the county for various tasks and meetings
• Liaising with Operations Teams to advise on the correct subcontract and supplier for the schemes
• Keep highly accurate contemporary records, consistent with the expectations of the company and in line with the contract requirements

Functional Responsibilities
• Support the Commercial process
o Work with financial and commercial teams as required to ensure solutions are properly priced, costed and commercially managed.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge –
• Good IT skills in Excel, word and others
• Able to manage commercial and contractual arrangements associated with their contracts; identifies areas and calls on assistance where necessary; knowledge of the differences between specific contract and the standard contract terms and conditions.
• Taking significant responsibility for profitability and cash flow for the contract.
• Able to negotiate with client at appropriate level to agree variations and project costs / value
• Suitable knowledge of the highways maintenance business – contracts and subcontracts.
• Understand the process for financial applications to the client; input to same
• Knowledge of the risks identified for their contract and ability to advise where these may be compromised.
• Understanding of the Method of Measurement for Highway Works (or alternative for their particular contract)
• Effective written and oral communication skills;
• Get results and exhibit the sort of presence that builds
