Our Client is one of the UK's leading suppliers of instrumentation for a diverse range of applications in the nuclear industry. The client is looking for 2 Measurement & Systems Engineers (Physicists)

The Role:
The client is looking for 2 Measurement & Systems Engineers (Physicists) 1 to work at SeaScale, Cumbria and 1 to be based from Oxford. The client will consider applicants who have graduated and hold some experience, and will also consider more Senior level people

The purpose of this post is to provide specialist radiometric measurements services, problem solving, physics and engineering support for the maintenance of installed NDA systems

They will work closely with Services team colleagues and the physicists at other sites.
A strong focus is required on end – customer needs, involving front – line customer support, system commissioning, specialist radiometric measurement and consultancy services.

The Measurements and Systems Engineer will carry out customer visits to discuss radiometric measurement requirements and liase with colleagues to develop appropriate proposals and solutions.

Provide physics support (measurements and modelling work) for measurements projects meeting the required customer standards and CUKL QA procedures, under the guidance of the line manager, senior physicists or other colleagues as appropriate.

The Measurement & Systems Engineer/Physicist will maintain local specialist equipment to CUKL QA procedures.

Produce or assist in the preparation of technical documentation (Project specifications, proposals, Physics Reports, Method Statements, Risk Assessments etc)

The Measurements and Systems Engineer/Physicist will liaise with customers at all levels and promote the company including all departments

Maintain accurate records to comply with the requirements of the company’s QA registration.

Provide support to the Seascale – based Team Leader for inspection, calibration, training, test and repair of nuclear related electronic assemblies.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The sucessful person will be required to be physically fit to pass the medical required to remain a Classified Radiation Worker.

The Measurement & Systems Engineer/Physicist will have working knowledge of radiation measurement techniques
Practical experience of applying NDA physics techniques to solving radiometric assay problems
Experience of working on nuclear licensed sites an advantage
Ability to work unsupervised or as part of either a small physics team or a multi – disciplinary team
Able to deal with, and understand, technically complex problems

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
