The Role:
Our leading client is currently seeking a Mechanical & Piping Construction Supervisor based in Qatar on a residential basis on a 12month (renewable) contract.

Job Purpose:
• Report to the Construction Lead/ Manager/ Project engineer
• Working closely with Construction Coordinator prior and during project execution
• Provide Company representation in monitoring and coordinating the site activities of EPC Contractor and its sub-contractors.
• Report on the construction activities, progress, and areas of concern and mitigating actions.
• Prepare for and participate in weekly construction review meetings.
• Review and approve method statement provided by contractor and make construction execute the job follow to method statement.

Key Result areas:
• Monitor and assist the EPC Contractor and sub-contractors in the implementation of site specific HSE program, emergency response and evacuation drill programs. Participate in incident/ accident investigation and prevention of recurrence.
• Coordinate EPC Contractor’s work activities and interface coordination with the activities of Third Parties. Coordinate EPC Contractor’s activities with company Operations to avoid interference with existing onshore and offshore facilities.
• Ensure construction work carried out in accordance with company rules, regulations, standards and permit to work procedures.
• Ensure that construction is carried out in accordance with RLC (Ras Laffan City) rules regulations, standards and the Consolidated Permit to Work System in areas under RLC jurisdiction.
• Review work and inspection results to ensure compliance with EPC Contract requirements. Interface and coordinate with Project Engineer/Engineer and QC Coordinator. Monitor and ensure the correction of non-conformance report items and other issues supporting QA/QC compliance.
• Review the construction sequence/logic, work plan/procedures and pre-task planning to ensure comprehensive feasibility and safety.
• Report and record potential change order request to assist in claims avoidance.
• Monitor site material handling and warehousing procedures with respect to the areas to facilitate construction progress.
• Provide assistance and direction in the Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, and Start-up activities of the plant working with all parties to facilitate these activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum of (10) years broad experience in all phases of construction planning, field execution and mechanical completion activities
• Worldwide experience working with contractors and subcontractors, in particular those involved in the construction of onshore and offshore oil, gas, chemical and/or petrochemical plant facilities
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Diploma.(Mechanical/Electrical/Civil)
• Good written and verbal communications skills.
• Good supervisory skills.
