The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to work alongside a developing team working on nuclear design projects.

Role involves:
* Autocad and 3D Inventor Design on nuclear projects, e.g. mechanical/remote handling
* Ensuring that all work on a specific project being produced complies with the client design specification and relevant standards
* Ensure completeness of design packages presented to the Design Manager/Lead Engineer for comment, review, approval etc.
* Attend site surveys
* Interface with client on project related matters including Requests for Information, Technical Queries etc.
* Interface with other disciplines to ensure compliance with their requirements, equipment and service locations

Essential Skills:
* Proficient in AutoCAD
* 3D design skills (Ideally Inventor or ProE but others considered)
* Experience in mechanical design
* Experience producing detail designs
* Some experience producing mechanical calculations
* Some experience producing mechanical documentation to support designs i.e. outline installation method statement, DJR, DAR, Design Risk Assessment, Technical Files
* Good communication skills
* HNC Mechanical Engineering (or related engineering discipline)

Desirable Skills:
* Some experience in research developing new equipment / machinery
* Some experience in coordinating design procedures
* Experience in FEA and the use of 'ANSYS' software
* Experience of design for nuclear sites/facilities
* Experience of working on projects for Sellafield site and conversant with design processes, procedures and standards
* Degree Qualified
* IEng or CEng accredited, or working towards either
