Our client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions the transmission and distribution industry

The Role:
My client is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Designer that has experience of product development. The successful candidate will work within cross functional teams to apply mechanical engineering practices to the lifecycle of project orientated designs.

As a Mechanical Designer you will be expected to:

- Compile documentation and drawings using ProE & PDM Link
- Process Parts, structures and Bills of Materials using SAP
- Utilise Finite Element Analysis software for thermal or stress analysis
- Carryout Flow meter sensor design, especially Electromagnetic principle.
- Apply flange standards and demonstrate a good understanding of pressure vessels.
- Apply knowledge of welding / weld design
- Maintain designs using Autocad & ProE
- Complete Prototypes of flow meters and their calibration
- Carry out testing of the designs to agreed test plans
- Design injection mould components and Aluminium castings, such as transmitter enclosures

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Minimum if HND in Mechanical engineering
- Proficient in ProE or similar 3D CAD Packages.
- Experienced user of SAP.
- Experience with finite element analysis
- Experience of Mechanical design in terms of products and components
Ideally experienced with the design of flowmeters and their calibration.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- BSC or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Ideally experienced with the design of flowmeters and their calibration.
