The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Automatic Transmissions Mechanical Development Engineer Work with component engineers to define test requirements, manage testing, and deliver Engineering sign-off for Auto Transmission Mechanical system. Lead resolution of technical & facility issues as they arise. Liaise with component suppliers & test facilities/workshops to plan & deliver testing to meet programme milestones.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Component DV testing and engineering sign off experience. An HND or Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering. Ability to manage multiple test activities & engineering workstreams in parallel. Excellent communication and supplier liaison skills. Good PC skills including Microsoft Office and MSProject
3 years proven experience in automotive mechanical component delivery
Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering,

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of Automatic transmission (preferred but not essential) and/or rig and vehicle testing. Knowledge of AIMs (Automated Issues Management) system. Knowledge of GPDS delivery process. Knowledge of Ford eFDVs DVP delivery system Full driving license
Good experience of Powertrain systems Good understanding of transmission related component function/design Knowledge of OEM/major supplier project delivery processes would be desirable. Good problem solving techniques (ideally formal 5D, 8D of six sigma DMAIC process understanding) Experience in accelerated vehicle & component rig testing (including test preparation)
