Job Description Designs Engineer (Mechanical)
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field and at least five (5) plus years of dedicated experience performing piping stress analysis in accordance with ASME codes and standards, working alongside peers reviewing each other’s work (conceivably at a Design House/Institute), utilizing Caesar II software for the oil and gas or energy industry. He/she will preferably have received formal Piping Stress Training from a recognized COADE/Intergraph Office. A good written and verbal English skill (technical level) is required to communicate with expat mentor.

 Demonstrated commitment to safety
 General knowledge of oil and gas processing, sulfur plants, and utilities
 Problem solving skills
 Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
 Knowledge and experience in using applicable codes such as: ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5 and ASME Section VIII and API, ANSI, MSS etc.
 Perform stress analysis of piping systems using Caesar II software to qualify piping in accordance with ASME codes, project standard and project specifications (Ability to model complex systems including jacketed piping and buried piping)
 Familiar with Static Piping Stress Concepts like CNODES, Cold Pull, Expansion Joints, Flexible Nozzles, WRC 107/297, Flange Loading, etc.
 Aware of Dynamic Piping Stress concepts like Transient Surge (Hydraulic Hammer and Slugging), Relief Valve popping, Reciprocating Equipment Vibration Dampers, Snubbers, etc.
 Evaluate calculated stress results, displacements, and pipe support loads
 Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered
 Strong communication skills, both written and oral
 Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
 General engineering knowledge, code and standards knowledge
 Tengiz Plant operation knowledge and experience a plus

Here is the position description:
The Pipe Stress Engineer will provide piping design and analysis of an assigned scope of work with-in Designs Engineering including specific complex deliverables such as pipe stress analysis, support design, Work includes, among other things, conceptual studies, layouts, design calculations, and reviewing vendor packages for equipment, nozzle loads, and anchor locations. Is able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers and to produce both high-level summary reports as well as in-depth detail reports (e.g. for ETC or Engineering Contractor distribution).
