The Role:
To provide Mechanical Engineering Support to ensure that Plant Operations are Safe and Reliable and that the production potential is maximized in relation to plant availability and that the Plants
Program is not jeopardized by Mechanical Engineering inefficiencies.
Evaluate Performance of Mechanical Equipment - Evaluates the performance of mechanical equipment and systems and recommends operating changes or equipment modifications to improve Plant Safety, Reliability and Efficiency or to prolong equipment life.
Design & Select New Mechanical Equipment - Assists in the design, selection and specification of new mechanical equipment or systems. Assists in the review of prepared engineering drawings and submits comments andrecommendations to ensure effective final design of modified or new Plant equipment and facilities.
Equipment Maintenance - Assists in Maintenance type work during periods of increased plant activities such as Plant shut downs or Plant Turn-a-rounds.
Project Planning - Assists in new project planning and installation in order to ensure adequate emphasis on mechanical requirements and cost control.
Mechanical Equipment Reliability - Assists in coordinating activities involving inspection, maintenance, and repairs to optimize utilization and improve reliability of mechanical equipment and systems.
Operating and Capital Budgets - Assists in the preparation of the companys Operating and Capital Budgets.
Monitor Contractor Performance - Monitors the performance of contractors to ensure acceptable execution of work being done.
Training Manuals - Assists in the preparation of training and other manuals.
Contract Specifications - Writes proper contract specification for various types of jobs.
Mechanical Reports - Submits monthly reports on a timely basis.
Additional - Any other such duties that may be required to be done from time to time to ensure a smooth running of the department and the company as a whole. Carry out CYBER Observations and KPAs as speciied

This job is permanent and based in Trinidad & Tobago

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Bachelors Mechanical Engineering •5 - 7 Engineering - Mechanical Engineer •Computer literate and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications •Project Management Skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Good communication skills both written and verbal •Works closely with individuals from other departments with a view at always building better relations for the general improvement of interpersonal development. •Confident in manner with ability to issue clear and concise instructions •Ability to work for long periods unsupervised •Plans and executes job within budget and timeframe •Ability to take corrective action as it pertains to safety
