The Role:
Supervisory and Managerial Duties:
Mechanical Engineer working Engineering and Modifications Contract carrying out brownfield modifications work across 12 offshore and onshore assets.



Should have experience of working on equipment packages containing both rotating and static equipt



Main Duties:
· Be aware of technical integrity for all workscopes

· Be conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards e.g., BS, API and Client codes and standards, DCR and HS&E Regulations and EU Directives

· Prepared specifications and data sheets.

· Act as the Responsible Package Engineer for any equipment designed, specified, and procured by the individual.

· As Responsible Package Engineer, responsible for vendor management, vendor design verification and witness testing of equipment

· Maintain the required technical quality of work

· Ensure that work output complies with the relevant procedures

· Prepare estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules

· Ensure that results of any development work are fully utilised in discipline activities

· Participate as necessary in discussions with Client and visit jobsites when necessary

· Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule

· Keep up-to-date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the scope of the discipline

· Providing documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in work packs and design books on time to meet offshore deadlines

· Producing cost effective designs that are fit for purpose and safe

· Responsible as a key member of any Project team for achieving the project target and completion of the project within the budget and schedule

· Assist the Lead Discipline Engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties

· Required to support Corporate function as required by the Chief Mechanical Engineer

Taking part and contributing to construction risk assessments and construction method statements



Health and Safety Responsibilities:
· Take personal responsibility for Health and Safety either in the office or on site

· Shall take into account all relevant procedures, guidance etc. relating to the work, which will ensure compliance with the Safety Management System

· Attend relevant Safety, Health and Environmental awareness training provided by the company which will help meet the above requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education & Qualifications:

Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

Depending on the position: vessels, static equipment or rotating equipment:



Shall be knowledgeable in one or more of the following equipment areas:


Static Equipment
Pumps
Compressors
Gas Turbines
Pressure Vessel Design
Materials
Finglow
Heat Exchangers
HVAC
Mechanical Handling Systems
Seal Systems
Ancillary Systems – Lube Oil, etc


Experience:

· Suitable experience within the oil and gas industry will be a factor when selecting Mechanical Engineers, but the criterion for selection will be their ability to carry out the role.



· Minimum criteria for consideration for selection as an Engineer is one of the following or a combination of:


Qualifications such as a mechanical degree or HND/HNC and suitable experience
A career progression from skilled mechanical trades or designer to to an engineer position, which must be demonstrable.
