The Company:
Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.

They are one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
Our Client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment Engineer) to provide technical and engineering support and strategic vision to achieve safe, efficient and reliable operation of our client’s existing facilities.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

• Providing technical support to existing facilities to resolve operational problems in a timely manner.
• Provide strategic direction to optimise facility performance.
• Coordinate studies in determination of route cause of a failure.
• Input to opportunity management, reliability and continuous improvement of existing systems that will also involve interfacing with project groups.
• Mentoring graduate and other engineers to ensure staff retention and maintain a future skill base.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
In order to fulfil the role you must have the ability to demonstrate knowledge, capability and competence in the following aspects:

• Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical engineering with previous experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated experience at a technical engineering level within the Oil and Gas industry. Ability and passion to mentor less experienced Mechanical Engineers.
• Operational Support experience at a senior level preferably in Oil and Gas however other Operating Support roles will be considered.
• Leadership and teamwork ability to work in the organisation’s integrated matrix organisation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to converse with individuals at all levels within the organisation.
• Ability to demonstrate strong business focus, flexibility and a committed attitude to safety. Demonstrate good planning and establish communication between stakeholders
to achieve optimum production.
