The Role:
Selection, specification and evaluation of various static equipment items in accordance with contractual requirements, national and international standards and legislative requirements. Familiarity with the following codes API 620, 650, 653, EEMUA 159, BS EN 14015, ASME VIII, PD 5500 and the Pressure Equipment Directive 97-23-EC would be advantageous, though this is not essential.

Use of technical writing skills and experience to create and deliver project related documents, i.e. Specifications, Data Sheets, Bid Tabulations, Material requisitions and production of fitness for purpose calculations for static equipment.

Act as a member of a technical team under the direction, guidance and development of the Teesside Principal Mechanical Engineer.

Supporting FEED and EPC Projects.

Provide engineering input during Concept and FEED phase of projects, identifying optimal equipment selection during EPC phase of projects.

Principal Accountabilities
• Responsible for discipline technical input into projects or proposals. Makes technical decisions with the support of more senior members of the Teesside discipline.
• Will be responsible for the creation of deliverables to man-hour budgets developed and advised by the Principal Engineer.
• Ensures that all applicable national and international codes and company and client standards and procedures are applied correctly to the project.
• Strives for efficient working
• When necessary, fosters good working relationships and liaison with client’s engineers and vendors.
• Ability to work within an integrated engineering team, across disciplines and the various functions within the business.
• Given time and sufficient development, it is envisaged that this candidate will progress through to Principal Engineer and will lead the Mechanical discipline within the Teesside team, however there will be opportunities to work on large EPC projects across the wider organisation and therefore many future career paths exist.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Applied Science or equivalent. Chartered Engineer.
Alternative Qualifications: OND / ONC, HND / HNC equivalent.
