The Role:
Anomalies are piping where the wall thickness is lower than design. This degradation can be either due to external corrosion or internal corrosion/erosion. Based on the wall thickness, they are categorized as either CAT 1, 2 or 3 anomalies. CAT 1 anomalies are required to be addressed urgently to prevent further degradation, either by spool replacement or temporary method (wraps, clamps etc), whereas CAT 2 and 3 anomalies are to be addressed within one year of identification, either by spot painting or fabric maintenance (blast and painting).

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for addressing, and in the process, liquidating the high backlog associated with these anomalies on the five operating assets.

The primary roles of the mechanical engineer will be:
1. Develop a strategy to liquidate the high anomaly backlog for all five operating assets.
2. Identify all anomalies and develop scope of work on method to be used to address each anomaly.
3 To liaise with the site personnel in outlining strategy to liquidate anomalies.
4. Provide QA/QC for all works executed by contractor to ensure quality of work is achieved.
5.Track liquidated anomalies via work orders and anomaly listing for each site, and report on a weekly basis progress on liquidation of anomalies.
6.Lead work with staff and contractors to deliver the anomaly management strategy. Have successful interaction with range of stakeholders.
7.Track cost expenditure versus budget allocations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* 5 years experience in the construction capacity within the oil and gas industry.
* Knowledge and working experience of piping systems eg. spool fabrication, wrap, clamp and lok ring installation, spot painting and fabric maintenance (blast and painting) will be an asset.

Knowledge, Language, Skills and Attributes.
* A BSc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Working knowledge of API, ASME, NACE, ASTM and other relevant Engineering codes and standards
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Computer literate with typical office packages and mechanical and maintenance engineering packages
