The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply. Owned by a global energy leader with operations across five continents.

The Role:
As the Subject Matter Expert - Mechanical Engineering you will sit within the Engineering Team and provide technical support and assurance activities to the Company's LNG project, covering all stages and elements of the project cycle including, design, construction, installation, commissioning, and start-up of the process and utilities systems as well as leading technical input to future expansion activities.

Supporting the existing Asset operations as the leading authority in Mechanical Engineering, including the provision of technical assurance support to the project as a whole as well as providing organisation-wide leadership in Mechanical Engineering through all stages of the project lifecycle.

Additional responsibilities will include:
• Develop and maintain detailed systems knowledge of all Company static and rotating equipment, valves and fittings through design, fabrication, construction and operational phases
• Provide technical and engineering management support and advice to Company project in relation to mechanical engineering design, construction, commissioning and operations activities
• Complete technical assurance activities necessary to demonstrate that the key equipment items meet the approved technical and commercial performance criteria and stakeholders requirements
• Engage with delivery teams to ensure the Define, Execute and Operations stages of the project and their interfaces are managed and executed effectively
• Lead the development of safe and reliable plant and equipment to accommodate future field expansion activities
• Identify critical areas of exposure in the successful delivery of the key equipment items and ensure plans to mitigate risks are developed and executed accordingly
• Support and lead investigations into equipment non-compliance issues
• Contribute to the Management of Change process in terms of engineering reviews, changes and potential changes
• Track and ensure closure of all Functional Review actions related to controls system infrastructure
• Provide focal point for technology development in relation to mechanical packages and systems and engage with technology providers to ensure Company’s interests are represented as appropriate
• Ensure that suitable Peer Assists, Peer Reviews and Value Engineering Workshops are executed and actions completed accordingly

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in engineering or relevant experience
• Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution (preferred)
• Substantial experience in the area of mechanical design but not necessarily solely in an engineering or assurance function
• Demonstrated exposure to Systems Engineering processes and a with wide exposure to diverse technical and business environments
• Verifiable record in the successful development and delivery of a number of complex hydrocarbon or infrastructure projects
