The Role:
Part of a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll have excellent communication, advocacy and influencing skills supported by experience in delivering through others. We are seeking a candidate that listens and queries to understand customer problems, analyses and can identify appropriate solutions to address these problems.

You’ll provide engineering support to existing facilities;
• Participates in the regional development and delivery of the discipline group plan across all market sectors, as guided by the discipline group manager and the team leader
• Provides and coordinates support to the region in the areas of mechanical/static equipment, project support, troubleshooting and advises on preparation of general mechanical specifications
• Participates in project teams as a discipline engineer
• Assesses and discusses customer needs and proposes and executes proper approaches to problem solving and gives advice to customers in consultation with Global peers
• Contributes to the design of equipment and systems and cost estimating
• Will be responsible for delivery of the above while meeting or exceeding customer expectations
• Will be part of the delivery group in maximizing productivity, development, spreading of team’s best practices and adherence to the quality systems
• Will develop expertise and leverage on best practices to ensure technically sound, cost effective engineering advice, and add value to all clients
• To establish working alliances with local engineering contractors in our engineering design work and all supporting services
• Keeping up with new manufacturing, materials and tools developments within area of expertise Activities such as alignment of technologies and methodologies, workload sharing, and optimization can be challenging.
• Teamwork and exchange of knowledge is increasingly important while adherence to the quality systems is a must
• This role supports a variety of mechanical systems and project support, support to mechanical designs associated with a variety of process equipment

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
You’ll have minimum BSc (or equivalent) HTS in mechanical engineering. Significant professional experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the oil & gas industry; including international work in projects or operating units.

• Knowledge of international codes and standards applicable to pressure valves designs
• Broad skills in equipment design and manufacturing as well as construction, materials, corrosion, inspection and maintenance engineering in petrochemical or chemical facilities
• Ability to prepare and / or challenge basis of design and detailed specification packages for new project facilities
• Ability to review detail designs from contractors for mechanical equipment including inspections in workshops

You’ll be fluent in the English language and experienced working with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Have good organizational and relationship skills. Be self motivated to learn and can quickly adapt to changing situations. Results orie

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience with valves for DS/US applications (Including ball, gate, butterfly, plug, globe, choke, check, needle and safety relief valves).
• Knowledge of valves used within the oil, gas and power industry, and provide a professional standard of support and technical capability
• Familiar with, and proficient in the use of relevant API, ISO and ASME codes for valve design, manufacture, alteration, repair, rerating, testing and inspection of valves.
• Preferably also experience with sub sea valves
