The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide. In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in Execution Stage.

The Role:
An opportunity is now available for a Mechanical Handling Engineer – FPSO to join the FPSO Project Engineer team in Kuala Lumpur.

Under the direction of Topside Engineering Manager, you will be responsible to manage the FPSO Contractor/s in the delivery of Topsides and Hull Mechanical Handling requirements of the project, with full consideration to safety, reliability, operability and maintainability for its 40yr design life.

Additionally you role will also encompass the following duties:
• Ensure the mechanical handling design minimizes the impact on the environment in line with project requirements.
• Have a detailed understanding and knowledge relating to mechanical handling techniques and equipment.
• Support/advise the project Engineering team and the Operations team on mechanical handling requirements for FPSO topsides and hull.
• Liaise with the CPF Mechanical Handling focal point to assure standardisation mechanical handling equipment and techniques.
• Ensure that project specifications are complied with and deviations are substantiated in line with project procedures.
• Organise and manage and Mechanical Handling third party support studies and meetings as required.
• Organise and manage Mechanical Handling model reviews with Contractor and Company personnel.
• Ensure project deliverables and activities associated with the FPSO mechanical handling design are achieved in accordance with project milestone dates, budget and technical requirements of BOD.
• Direct/advise Contractors on mechanical handling aspects of design, construction, installation and offshore hookup and commissioning of the FPSO to meet project requirements.
• Monitor/review and report Contractor Mechanical Handling progress of the work in a timely manner.
• Organise regular progress/technical meetings with Contractor.
• Provide guidance and input into Contractor strategies/procedures and specifications with respect Mechanical Handling for procurement, construction, installation and offshore hookup and commissioning of the FPSO.
• Review and comment of Contractor/Supplier documentation in a timely manner.
• Coordinate INPEX discipline comments on Contractor/Supplier Mechanical Handling documentation in a timely manner.
• Review and approve the Contractor Mechanical handling Report.
• Assist in identifying project risks and implement agreed mitigation measures as required.
• Ensure interfaces between the FPSO hull and topside are managed as required.
• Ensure interfaces between the CPF and FPSO are managed as required.
• Ensure operations and maintenance requirements are incorporated in the design.
• Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures. Ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times.
• Ensure the mechanical handling design is in compliance with Australian Safety Case Requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
To be considered for this role you will require:

• At least 5 – 10 years experience in mechanical handling (specially within offshore Oil and Gas)
• A high awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction, pre-commissioning, installation and offshore hook up and commissioning of FPSO
• Strong communication skills
• Candidates with experience in lifting will be considered

This is a contract assignment that will be initially based in KL with the potential of relocation to South Korea in 2013.
