The Company:
Our Client is the Operator of this Multi-Billion $ Project with involves the construction of an integrated wellhead, production and accommodations platform.

The Project is currently in Fabrication Stage at one of the Top 3 Yards in Korea and the client is committed to technology innovations that reduce environmental impacts and enhance safety.
Gas from the field will be exported to the UK via a gas pipeline.

The Role:
General
- Ensure appliance of the requirements by setting on KPI's regularly updated.
- Participate actively to the constructability reviews organized by CTR and follow-up the actions register (related to Mechanical).
- Share experiences with other projects already working on the yard.
- Review and comment the Contractor construction procedures to make sure that mechanical aspects are properly covered by each discipline.
- Review all CTR periodic reports related to mechanical. Identify potential risk of delay in the construction execution Mechanical equipment, and formulates remedial actions.
- Liaise closely with Contractor supervisor for mechanical discipline. Continuously expedite the resolution of mechanical issues with the Contractor to meet schedule key dates.
- In close cooperation with the engineering team assists to preparation of answers to all Contractor query related to mechanical matters.
- In close coordination with the CPY QC Team, raise, follow-up and close quality issues via quality observation cards (or FOCUS comment) or NCRs.
- Ensure proper coordination with the commissioning team in order to control the interfaces at RFC stage. This includes joint monitoring of Contractor RFC dossier and punch list clearance when related to mechanical discipline (using ICAPS).
- Prepare and update on weekly basis reporting on his activities and highlight to the UPF Mechanical Supervisor of concern which may impact either the quality or the delivery date.
- Ensure that the sail-way is timely prepared with correct identification and location of material, proper preservation and sea-fastening.
CPY.
Mechanical Inspector responsibilities:
- Develop and review mechanical procedures and inspection and test plans.
- Become knowledgeable of the project approved for construction drawings and specifications.
- Verify and monitoring the adherence to project accepted material tracking, welding, and NDE procedures.
- Review of Contractor’s shop drawings.
- Ensure SHI compile full and accurate reports of all piping and mechanical activities.
- Ensure welders on piping are qualified for the specific application.
- Verify quality of the installation of the Piping / Mechanical System components (piping, rotating and static equipment, and HVAC).
- Perform necessary dimensional checks.
- Perform P&ID checks to verify design compliance.
- Review NDE results.
- Witnessing flushing and hydrostatic testing, and reinstatement of piping & equipment alignment checks.
- Verify that all rotating and static equipment is installed in accordance with the project specifications.
- Verify that HVAC components are installed as per the project approved for construction drawings and specifications.
- Assist with pre-commissioning and commissioning of piping and mechanical systems.
- Preparing list of Piping / Mechanical Systems items for inclusion in the final punch list.
- Ensure all equipment has preservation/maintenance checks in accordance with contract requirements.
- Understand the project schedule and be proactive in assessing where activities could impact the planned progress advising the HST leads.
- Document and communicate Lessons Learned in all above responsibilities
- Large experience on similar topside and at equivalent position.
- Prefer experience with North Sea project built in accordance with Norsok
- Familiar with NCS requirements (PSA/Norsok) and in particular with working environment requirements.
- Familiar with TOTAL SA General Specifications.
- English & Korean fluent.
- Offshore project construction back-ground and experience with Korean yards.
- Relevant Professional Experience in Projects (number of years) : 10
