The Role:
Job Summary:

- To support the Metrology department in an inspection role to enable the successful delivery of third party engineering contracts and current and future Production projects.
- To be a valued member of a team evaluating components and investigating quality concerns on production parts enabling improved quality of our product

Role Responsibilities:

- Accurately conduct measuring tasks and record results
- Work the minimal supervision
- Liaise with Engineers as required
- Participate as a team member in problem solving and investiagtions
- Produce detailed reports relating to measured results
- To be able to use a range of Metrology equipment and processes on machined, fabricated and mould components as follows;-
- CMM, micrometers, bore gauges, profile projector, talysurf, talyrond, callipers, height gauges, faro arms, hardness testing and tensile test machine, also crack detection and sample preparation for material analysis.
- To have extensively used micrometers and bore gauges to measure close toleranced components to a high degree of accuracy and repeatability.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
GCSE Maths, English, Science or other relevant academic skills or qualifications
Technical knowledge of automotive components and extensive experience in the use of all basic hand held inspection equipment
PC literate, basic skills in Word & Excel. To be skilled in the reading and interpretation of engineering drawings. To have an in depth understanding on tolerancing.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
HNC Mech & Prod Eng
Engineering apprenticeship
Have knowledge and experience in the use of more advanced inspection equipment such as CMM, Talysurf, Talyrond, and Tensile test machines.
Word & Excel competent user. To be able to carry out trigonometry, maths and engineering qualifications.
To have extensively used micrometers and bore gauges to measure close toleranced components to a high degree of accuracy and repeatability.
