The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join a major operator, working on one of Australia's most significant LNG projects to date. This role is part of the Downstream QA/QC team. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, possess good communication skills, leadership, teamwork, technical mechanical experience and be computer literate with a high level of technical report writing. A Minimum of 10-15 years oil and gas industry experience is required, you will also need to be fully conversant with applicable AS, API, ASME and BS rotating equipment standards.

Key responsibilities include but will not be limited to:
Provide assistance & direction to Contractor Mechanical inspectors on BWI to ensure compliance with project specifications, manufactures and vendor’s recommendations and special requirements.
Provide support and assistance to construction during assembly of package supplied equipment from the setting out and grouting of shear keys, bedding plates, etc, through to final acceptance ensuring compliance with project specifications, manufactures and vendors recommendations requirements are being achieved.
Provide support and assistance regarding equipment preservation prior to and during installation up to start up.
Monitoring to ensure effective implementation of ITP’s & FICs (or ITR’s) by the contractor and attendance at Hold & Witness points.
Participating with Construction, Tech Services and Completion’s/Commissioning in the verification of construction completion.
Monitoring to ensure timely mark-up of As-built drawings and progressive compilation of MDR’s in accordance with index.
Assisting with coordinating inspections with site contractors,
Developing and implementing mechanical inspection surveillance program
Assisting with timely resolution, verification and follow up of Non-Conformance reports (NCR’s) and Concession Request’s (CR’s).
Provide assistance with compiling final hand over documentation.
Maintain and update team’s Mechanical inspection data base, recording inspection activities and assigning inspectors their daily duties.
Routine Surveillance of Mechanical activities – maintain Surveillance program
Promote safety awareness (Incident Injury Free) and safe performance example at site, fabrication yards, subcontractors and vendor shops participation in IIF. Completes safety observations monthly and as required (TSTO)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Apprenticeship trained preferably as a Millwright, minimum as a mechanical fitter.
• Previous 10 years of experience on major Oil & Gas, EPCM construction projects.
• Previous experience with installation of static and rotating equipment as a mechanical inspector.
• Previous experience installing package supplied equipment, under vendor’s recommendations and directions.
• Good understanding of QA/QC requirements for final documentation on Oil & Gas related construction Projects.
• Proactive approach to resolving Quality issues during assembly of package supplied equipment.
• Confidence in executing routine surveillance inspections around structural, mechanical, static, rotating equipment including piping.
• Previous experience with installation of large Gas Turbine Generators (GTG’s), Compressors and MEG injection.
• Basic computing skills and working knowledge of MS Office Word/Excel.

• Formal safety training.
• Effective communication and reporting skills.
• Previous experience of working on LNG projects.
• Candidate shall display confidence in representing the Client when interfacing with Contractors.
