The Role:
The Senior Mechanical Inspector will have the following responsibilities;

• Promote safety awareness Incident Injury Free (IIF) and safe performance at all times.
• Provide assistance & direction to other Mechanical inspectors on BWI to ensure compliance with project specifications, manufactures and vendor’s recommendations and special requirements.
• Provide support and assistance to construction during assembly of package supplied equipment from the setting out and grouting of shear keys, bedding plates, etc, through to final acceptance ensuring compliance with project specifications, manufactures and vendors recommendations requirements are being achieved.
• Monitoring to ensure effective implementation of ITP’s & ITR’s by the contractor and attendance at Hold & Witness points.
• Participating with Construction, Tech Services and Completion’s/Commissioning in the verification of construction completion.
• Monitoring to ensure timely mark-up of As-built drawings and progressive compilation of MDR’s in accordance with index.
• Assisting with coordinating inspections with site contractors,
• Developing and implementing mechanical inspection surveillance programmes.
• Assisting with timely resolution and follow up of Non-Conformance reports (NCR’s) and Concession Request’s (CR’s).
• Provide assistance with compiling final hand over documentation.
• Maintain and update team’s Mechanical inspection data base, recording inspection activities and assigning inspectors their daily duties.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The qualificaiotns and expereicne to successfully perform this role include;

• Apprenticeship trained preferably as a Millwright, minimum as a mechanical fitter.
• Previous experience on major Oil & Gas EPCM construction projects.
• Previous experience with installation of static and rotating equipment as a mechanical inspector.
• Previous experience installing package supplied equipment, under vendor’s recommendations and directions.
• Proactive approach to resolving Quality issues during assembly of package supplied equipment.
• Confidence in executing routine surveillance inspections around structural, mechanical, static, rotating equipment including piping.
• Previous experience with installation of large Gas Turbine Generators (GTG’s), Compressors and MEG injection.
