The Company:
Our client is a major Owner/Operator in Canada with headquarters in Calgary, AB. They are one of Canada’s largest producers of Crude Oil and Natural Gas as well as Canada’s largest refiner. Most of their Canadian projects are located in Northern Alberta’s Oil Sands.

This is a rotational position (2w/2w)

The Role:
Reporting to the Site Design Manager, the Mechanical Lead is a professional engineer leading a team of mechanical and piping engineers and technologists. Working with the Construction Management Team (CMT), Area Engineering Leads, and Home Office (HO), the Mechanical Lead will:
• Coordinate site engineers and HO for timely response of the RFI’s, NCRs, and FCRs to support construction activities.
• Ensure control and support of project processes for engineering changes and queries.
• Coordinate with materials/procurement group for vendor related deficient work and its rectification for vendor packaged equipment.
• Plan, conduct and report on engineering surveillance activities carried out on site.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful Mechanical Lead must have:

• An Engineering Degree.
• 10+ years of experience in Mechanical and Piping from a design perspective.
• Some site experience.
