The Company:
A leading global waste management company with a growing team at the nuclear site Winfrith.

The Role:
A varied role within a growing team on the nuclear site, Winfrith, undertaking mechanical maintenance.

Our client is ideally looking for a candidate with a mechanical engineering apprenticeship with an industrial background in a experience highly regulated industry e.g. nuclear.

Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, the Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will be carrying out planned, preventative and breakdown Maintenance, Testing and Repair on all of the company’s plant and equipment. You will also assist with designs, modifications and installations of equipment and plant and identify and implement improvements to equipment, processes, systems and procedures.

Working hours are 8.15am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.15am to 4.05pm on Friday excluding 45 minutes unpaid lunch break, equating to 37.5 hours per week.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship served or equivalent and Minimum of City & Guilds in an engineering subject

• Able to work in close communication with the operation team to prevent or minimise operational downtime and maximize Operation effectiveness

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience of working in the nuclear industry

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering

• Experience with HVAC, water, drainage, hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Experience of using workshop machinery including pillar drills, lathes, mills, band saws and welding
