The Company:
Our Client’s engineering division, has been a leader in the design of drilling facilities for offshore platforms worldwide for over 30 years. The company’s 700-strong workforce provides a range of engineering services from pre-project and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) through detail design, construction support, hook-up and commissioning.

The Role:
Our Client is looking for a Mechanical Package Engineer for an ongoing project based in Leatherhead. You will ba a qualified Mechanical Package Engineer who has experience in offshore Modules. You will be required to lead the mechanical engineering team in its administration, ensure that all procedures are adhered to in a timely manner, including the identification of all codes and standards as they are applied to our design process i.e. PED, Atex and the Machinery Directive.

The Role

To provide mechanical engineering expertise in static, i.e. Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Filters, packaged equipment and to provide support to a multi-discipline engineering team through the Detail Design, Construction and Commissioning / Start Up.


Responsibilities

Supervise and review Engineering Contractor documentation during the execution of detailed design, procurement and, in a later stage, construction activities, ensuring the quality and cost control of the works is according to the contract requirements, and guaranteeing that the project targets (timing, cost and quality) are correctly met.
Provide technical expertise and support the Engineering Managers requirement relevant to possible queries coming from the Contractors.
Ensure a smooth and effective transfer of data and information between Contractors (in the event of Contractor change from Phase to Phase).
Lead the identification, creation, and/or adoption of appropriate mechanical engineering Codes & Standards with standards and norms.
Identify and assess correct technologies and systems to facilitate improvements in design and operability.
Advise on mechanical equipment standardization, availability, and sparing philosophies.
Undertake technical integrity and HSE reviews/audits.
Participate in process safety management.
Provide assistance to the construction contractor(s) on all mechanical aspects of the Static Equipment.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Previous offshore experience
Must have BOP control system experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Drilling experience would be advantageous
