The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
For our client we are looking for a Mechanical Package Engineer who is responsible for the management of Mechanical Purchase orders, vendor documentation reviews, responding to site/project Technical Queries and supporting general PO close out activities (data completion, equipment tag registration, documentation close out, technical assistance to construction/commissioning/operations).

The Mechanical Package Engineer will:

• Be accountable for package engineering work as assigned by the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
• Be responsible for producing Mechanical Requisitions for the purchase of Mechanical Equipment (in line with Project Specifications and Industry Standard requirements).
• Performing Technical Bid Evaluations for compliance of vendor bids to requirements to Project Specifications/Industry Standards.
• Management of Purchase Orders and the expediting of vendor document submissions/delivery of equipment to meet the Project schedule requirements.
• Contribute to the technical review of vendor & subcontractor document submissions to ensure compliance to Project Specification/Industry Standard requirements.
• Be responsible for ensuring all vendor deliverables (documentation/equipment/data) are successfully delivered / completed and verified for accuracy to allow close out of purchase order.
• Provide input to other function departments (commercial, construction, quality, safety) with respect to the packages including responding to Technical Queries/RFIs, Non-conformances and Concession Requests.
• Coordination of other engineering disciplines, procurement, materials management, quarantine, logistics etc. to ensure the successful delivery of purchase order supplied equipment.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
To be considered for this position you will be:

• Degree Qualified Mechanical Engineer
• Minimum 10 years-experience in large Project environments

Preferred Skills
• Experience in the application of Australian and international codes and standards.
• Experience within the LNG Industry.
• Experience with and a sound understanding of large rotating equipment including pumps/compressors/diesel generators for the LNG industry.
• Knowledge selection of equipment for Hazardous Areas (IECEx/AUSEx compliant equipment).
• Experience with purchase orders and management of vendor supplied equipment (static and rotating equipment) including all facets of design/fabrication/testing/delivery/installation/pre-commissioning/commissioning.
• Experience with supporting site construction/commissioning activities from a remote engineering office.
• Previous experience with electronic document management and tracking applications
