The Company:
Our client is a major global Oil and Gas EPC management company that can cover small Brownfield projects to major Greenfield projects.
They are a growth company who can serve as a Sole Supplier, Joint Venture or Subcontractor. With a proven track record of delivering large scale complex projects they are a progressive and attractive company.

The Role:
•Work as the Project engineer to lead small to medium multidisciplinary projects (25k – 250k) in a continuous process plant as part of the overall clients capital projects group.
•Experience of working on modification-type projects on chemical or similar plant environment.
•Working as part of the client team, expected to be hands-on and proactive in working with full-service design contractor, client procurement, plant operations, technical & engineering at all stages through FEL, production design, procurement, installation, commissioning and startup.
•Projects on various plants and including Utilities/Services and the need is for a mechanical engineering discipline person.
•Key requirement is to drive to completion a backlog of projects while maintaining compliance with client’s EH&S, project, engineering and operating standards.
•EH&S Management – Maintains EH&S Focus within the team to ensure EH&S requirements are included in the design and procurement.
•Competency to lead and coordinate disciplines and relevant experience.
•Client Relationships – Maintains and builds healthy client relationships.
•Proactively resolves performance, scope and schedule issues with the Client as they arise. Identifies documents, communicates and meets the client’s requirements.
•Scope Management – Complies with Client’s Project Management Process and requirements of the contract. Effectively change control process application.
•Time Management – Contributes to the development of overall project schedule. Supervises work in accordance with the approved schedule.
•Cost Control – Monitors cost aspects of the project within direct control and forecasts final costs, identifies trends and takes action to avoid cost overruns.
•Quality management – Contributes to compliance with BASF policies and procedures.
•Team Management – Focuses team on achievement of milestones and other key project objectives. Listens to the team, discusses the issues, resolves problems and directs activities to remove roadblocks and achieves objectives.
•Client Relationship Management – Interfaces directly as part of the client’s on-site team and addresses client needs and concerns.
•Risk Management – Monitors closure of all identified risks and opportunities.
•Design Management – Sets clear objectives for the design team including achieving productivity and budget targets. Ensures design team is aware of, and complying with client’s Basis of Design and applicable regulations and codes. Manages inter-discipline interfaces effectively.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•HND (or equivalent) in mechanical background ideally.
•Experienced Project Engineer.
•Proven track record of FEED & detailed design.
•Excellent technical communication and co-ordination skills.
•Experience in EPC at least three of which have been as a Project Engineer
•Experience working on small size projects.
•Proven experience in leading a discipline design group
•Site experience is a requirement
