The Company:
Our clients are one of the world's leading engineering and project management organisations require a Mechanical Quality Engineer to be based over at Heysham Power Station

The Role:
The Mechanical Quality Engineer will be Implementing and managing project quality arrangements.

Advising on all aspects of quality management on projects, including risks and issues.

Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.

Establishing effective communication channels with Customers (internal and external) and Suppliers

The Mechanical Quality Engineer will be Implementing appropriate auditing arrangements within the project, both internally and externally (e.g. Suppliers).

Provide man hour/cost estimates as part of the quality input to bids / tenders and when requested provide estimates to complete to the Project Manager.

Participation in project meetings and contract review / handover meetings.

Supporting the project team in managing and closing out quality non conformances / issues.

Ensuring Supplier quality arrangements are reviewed and approved / acceptance in accordance with project requirements, including Customer approvals, e.g. up-front manufacturing documentation (QCP’s, weld schedules, weld procedures, NDE procedures).


Monitor progress against the project quality arrangements, identifying areas of concern to the project and where necessary escalate to Line Management.

The Mechanical Quality Engineer will be liaising with customers to understand their requirements/expectations for quality assurance, quality control and inspection.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Nuclear experience
