The Role:
Fircroft are recruiting for a Senior mechanical rotating equipment Engineer for a long term contract based out in Qatar
Day rate in USD tax free
Monthly living allowance to cover accommodation/transport etc is approx USD6,400 per month
BUPA Classic Medical Insurance provided
Visa Provided
Mobilisation allowance of USD5000 (applicable if candidate is outside Qatar)
Demobilisation allowance of USD5000
Mob and demob flights provided for contractor only

Job Description:
Verify mechanical / rotating equipment engineering design to ensure compliance with project requirements as detailed in technical requirements.
Oversee the EPC contractor’s production of the mechanical/rotating equipment deliverables within project budget and schedule. Reports activities, progress, and areas of concern to Engineering Manager. Participates in appropriate weekly staff meetings.
Assists with all aspects of rotating equipment selection, design, installation, commissioning, and start-up planning.
Review the Vendors or EPC contractor's rotating equipment activities with respect to:
 Equipment data sheet completeness and accuracy
 Rotating equipment engineering studies and analyses
 Preparation of the technical specifications to be used for rotating equipment
 Coordinate vendor data review from all discipline engineers prior to vendor return
 Procurement of rotating equipment including preparation of specifications, bid evaluations, bid tabulations, bid recommendations, etc.
 Inspection and test plans, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Integration Tests (SITs)
 Development of field installation plans and procedures for rotating equipment
 Development of commissioning and start-up plans and procedures.
Steward the EPC contractor's activities with respect to mechanical / rotating equipment engineering execution including:

 Ensure that all affected parties are familiar with engineering execution plans, procedures, objectives, and overall job requirements
 Ensure that the contractor staffs the project with adequate numbers of qualified personnel
 Ensure that the contractor employs the appropriate design tools, including computer hardware and software
 Ensure that the contractor adheres to all appropriate specifications and standards
 Reinforce the requirement for the contractor to control the work, i.e. accurate and timely progress measurement and reporting.

Assist with technical bid evaluation of EPC contractor.

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum of fifteen (15) years experience primarily in mechanical and rotating equipment design of industrial facilities with onshore and offshore work. International experience, especially Qatar or the Middle East, is preferred.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Good written and verbal English language skills.
Good technical team skills.
Minimum of fifteen (15) years experience primarily in mechanical and rotating equipment design of industrial facilities with onshore and offshore work. International experience, especially Qatar or the Middle East, is preferred
