The Company:
A multi-national Oil and Gas Operator involved in a World Class Expansion Development being fabricated in Korea.

The Role:
Joining a Multi-national team based in one of the World's Largest Fabrication yards, this is an exciting long term (3 years+) role for an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to be part of a World Class Development.
The role will be based in Shinhan, Ulsan on an Expat basis and will report to the Reporting to Module Delivery Lead Project for this World Class Project
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Champion all HES Activities / Initiatives inclusive of Injury and Incident Free (IIF) initiatives, Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) programs, and identification of unsafe acts / unsafe conditions and raise observation cards, etc.
• Remains knowledgeable of safety policies and procedures as well as performs assigned duties in a safe manner while managing others, has responsibility for their safety and ensures that they comply with established safety policies and procedures and practice safe work habits.
• Compliance with Project Ethics policies.
• Supports Module Delivery Lead Project Engineers (MDLPE) whom are responsible for the timely delivery of a group of Pre-Assembled Modules (PAUs) inclusive of structural fabrication and assembly, piping fabrication and installation , equipment placement and mechanical outfitting, Electrical and Instrumentation installation, testing of piping systems / E&I systems, pre-commissioning of equipment (minimum) in addition to preparation of PAUs for shipment / sail away requiring de-stacking (horizontal splitting) of assembled PAUs, disconnection of piping, and E&I systems, preservation of equipment and systems, securing all items required for transport, loadout and secure PAUs onto ocean transport vessels.
• Understand the requirements of the contract’s Mechanical Equipment installation Scope Of Works inclusive of all aspects of Mechanical installation, outfitting and hook-up of Company supplied equipment and vendor packaged equipment skids; installation of heating and cooling systems inclusive of HVAC units, fans, coolers, ducting, lovers, diffusers, controls and the like; alignment of all rotating equipment, conduct limited pre-commission activities for equipment; securing and preserving mechanical equipment required for transit; schedule and look ahead plans for mechanical discipline. Ensures work is in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost control estimates.
• Ensure Fabrication Contractor complies with agreed build methods inclusive of single weld hook up (SWHU) methodology, dimensional control, lifting procedures and method statements for the most expedient approach.
• Responsibility to achieve mechanical completion of Mechanical and HVAC discipline scope.
• Ensures that subcontractors are complying with contract specifications and work procedures and material is being utilized to ensure optimum efficiency, and that work is being performed in conformance with specified quality requirements.
• Interfaces with Quality and Engineering Teams to insure all work scopes are in compliance with project requirements / specifications, any corrections, additions, re-work identified by Quality or Engineering is performed accordingly. Support MoC process. Support issue resolution. Assist in preparing punch list / carry over work packs as required.
• Maintains effective schedule reporting control functions of the project and ensures adherence to these practices, including verification and validation of Mechanical and HVAC discipline progress.
• Establish daily contact with Fabrication Contractor supervision and form effective relationships.
• Visit off-site fabrication sub-contractors, as necessary.
• Liaise with Company vendors as necessary for Mechanical and HVAC activities and associated interfaces.
• Develop excellent working relationships with Company and Contractors teams assisting Fabrication Contractor in all his endeavors and objectives observing quality codes and standards.
• Maintain high standards of attitude and behavior throughout the site and offsite acting as a role model / mentor for younger members of staff and local employees.
• Monitor and reports work activities and manpower requirements to meet established completion dates, monitors craft personnel levels, material, and equipment needed to meet schedules. Understand KPI targets and monitor progress and have a perspective towards the contractor focus on meeting targets
• Prepare progress based forecasts and provide planning and scheduling input to re-planning efforts, as required.
• Prepares and issues weekly / monthly status reports as required.
• Fabrication yard based role with majority of daily responsibility out on the site workface. Reports to MDLPEs

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
igh School diploma
• A minimum of 15 to 20 years of foreign experience with a proven ability to work with contractor personnel in a mentoring/developmental role
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
• Skills demonstrating the capability to run a large project
• High critical thinking/reasoning ability
• Effective communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Previous Korean Yards Experience
