The Company:
The client provides engineering and project management support to clients across various energy sectors, helping them to ensure that their operations remain safe, their assets are used efficiently and the maximum value is delivered from their capital investment projects.

The Role:
An opportunity exists for a Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our client's Energy Consultancy. The role will primarily involve work in the nuclear and renewable sectors to begin with but may develop to support other industries as the company continues to grow.

The role will be project based, with the aim to not only understand the technical problems in a project but also how these influence wider client objectives. This leads to an innovative approach in identifying and solving client issues.

Candidate Profile:

The mechanical systems engineer will have the ability to gain a good high level systems overview as the role will involve assessing large power plant mechanical systems and consulting on the most effective way to design and operate these systems

• Significant experience in implementing engineering design principles and applying a systematic approach to problem solving.
• Mechanical engineer with multi-disciplinary engineering experience in a project based environment
• Creative thinker with the ability to demonstrate an innovative approach to solving technical problems
• Able to engage and communicate well with a diverse range of stakeholders in a variety of fields including: technical, business, manufacturing, operations and regulatory
• A proven track record in a mechanical engineering environment driven through personal motivation and an inquisitive mind
• Demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to work capable of working independently and within a team
• Aspirations to be involved in helping to grow and develop a technical SME consultancy practice

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree qualified, in an engineering or science discipline
• Working towards chartership
• 3-8 years’ experience in an engineering design or operations environment
• Demonstrable experience of working within a multi-discipline engineering team with an understanding of other disciplines' constraints and requirements
