The Company:
Our client is a leading EPC contractor globally.

The Role:
Job Purpose:
• To maintain the total integrated Production system within discipline, ensuring that production and environmental targets are realised in a safe and efficient manner whilst maintaining operational integrity of the assets.
• To undertake preventive and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical equipment, both static and rotating
• To coach and mentor Local National staff to attain required knowledge and skills within their discipline.

• Fill out PTW as applicant for activities executed by technicians when required.
• Adhere to and promote the safety and environmental procedures to ensure own safety, safety of personnel, of process plant and the environment.
• Respond to any emergency situation to provide first line emergency response in accordance with the emergency procedures and to assist local emergency services under direction of the Incident Controller if required.
• Control all work in their area of accountability through the implementation and compliance with the Permit to Work process so as to prevent any undue risks or unsafe acts.
• Supervise and develop workshop technicians.
• Coordinate, quality assurance and support all engineering disciplines in overhaul/repair plant equipment
• Managing master tool store and provide tools for field technicians
• Plan, schedule and execute maintenance for workshop equipments and overhead hoists in the plant
• Develop and review procedures, work instruction for workshop activities
• Be the person in responsible for all jobs carried out in workshop and by the workshop team outside the workshop
• Provide workshop services in plant e.g. repair control in-situ, flange re-facing, structural repairs etc
• Prepare and complete relevant QA/QC documentation for all activities.
• Follow use SAP to manage notifications, work orders, parts ordering, and job history recording.
• Lead contractor and local national staff in the planning and execution of their work as required.
• Stand-in for area mechanical field supervisor or area planner as required.
• Participate in RCA investigations and carries out associated remedial actions as required.
• Conduct on the job training and mentoring of local national discipline staff in the safe and efficient maintenance of Majnoon production assets
• Conduct local national staff assessments and have an input into Mentee training records
• Maintain a flexible and positive attitude (especially with regard to the difficult working environment and highly focussed safety and security procedures)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Key Challenges:
• Execution of high quality maintenance on a wide range of mechanical equipment.
• Work in a challenging and changing environment, displaying core PIP values of Openness and Honesty as well as taking a positive outlook in face various site specific conditions.
• Ability to work with and as well as lead a multi ethnic work force.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Iraqi National - be based in Basra
• Mechanical Engineering Diploma (or equivalent).
• Fluent in Arabic and English preferred, although English only will be considered
• Middle East experience
• Minimum 5 years experience in managing workshop preferably in oil/gas industry
• Expertise in reading engineering drawings, interpreting tolerances and applying them in the execution of jobs
• Familiar with servicing/repairing of various valves including control valves, relief valves, steel piping/structure fabrication and precision machining
• Possess proven leadership and people management skills
• Be able to develop long term plan and improvement to workshop
• Mentoring/coaching experience
• Recognised assessor qualification (D31/32 or A1) preferred
• Competent in the use of SAP in Maintenance activities
• Able to demonstrate understanding of maintenance procedures and planning systems
