Our global leading client is seeking highly skilled, experienced & capable contract international employees to work on a large multinational complex oil & gas project.

The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician/Coach to Observe safe working practices within the facility and workshop areas and ensure that applicable safety procedures and regulations are observed
• Ensures that all installation, isolation and repair work is carried out according to the applicable codes of practice and Clients Operating Management System.
• Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and testing of a wide variety of mechanical equipment and systems including PSV's, Air and Gas Compressors and associated equipment, Diesel Engines, Gas Turbines, Gas Compression, Positive Displacement and Centrifugal Pumps, Heat Exchangers and Vessels, Valves, Filters and Platform Life Support Systems including Lifeboats..
• Perform integrity and pre start checks, verifying that Client procedures have been followed for plant modifications, training, and operating procedures.
• Understand the Maximo maintenance management and inventory system and the planning process.
•Perform preventive and corrective maintenance work on mechanical and rotating equipment as required by the maintenance plan.
• Exercise analytical skills in faultfinding, maintenance and repair.
• Ensure personal and formal risk assessments (where required) are carried out before the start of work.
•Manage the administration of WCC (Work Control Certificates), ICCs (Isolation Confirmation Certificates) through ISSOW.
• Active participation in safety briefings and pre job safety talks.
• Provide quality information concerning aspects of work and equipment to team leader and colleagues, including those who may not have core skills in own discipline.
• Communication and co-operation with all other offshore and onshore technical, managerial and training functions, including equipment partners, vendors and contractors.
• Perform Emergency Response duties as defined in the ERP (Emergency Response Plans) and company standards.
• Provide proactive input to training programme to ensure all aspects of national technician development are met.
• Actively encourage national technician development over and above core skills.
• Provide regular feedback to line management regarding trainee progress and requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Min 3 years of mechanical technician experience in operations.
• Computer literate;

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Recognised mechanical apprenticeship with 4 years post apprenticeship experience in the petro-chemical industry with academic qualifications to ONC\Full City and Guilds, preferably qualified to HNC standard or equivalent.
• Well developed fault finding capabilities.
•Good communication and organisation skills, specifically as related to coaching and development of national staff
• Awareness and understanding of applicable International and Client Codes and Safe Systems of Work.
• Ability to read and understand PFD’s, P&ID’s, isometric drawings, cause and effects drawings.
• Mechanical understanding of Rotating machinery, dual fuel systems, diesel engines, Vibration monitors, HVAC, Air Systems, Fire fighting Systems, Piping, Lubrication systems, valves and control valves, etc.
