The Company:
Our Client is a global group of energy and petrochemicals companies with around 87,000 employees in more than 70 countries and territories.

The Role:
• Familiarity with PTW processes as applicant and able to prepare PTW requisitions..
• Adhere to and promote the safety and environmental procedures to ensure own safety, safety of personnel, of process plant and the environment.
• Ensure compliance with the Permit to Work process so as to prevent any undue risks or unsafe acts.
• Carry out machining activities – turning, milling, drilling lapping to high standards and correct tolerances.
• Assist in the execution of relevant QA/QC documentation for all workshop activities.
• Have full knowledge in the use of work shop equipment and be able to execute machining jobs with precision.
• Support all engineering disciplines in the overhaul/repair of plant equipment
• Execute maintenance for workshop equipment.
• Develop and review procedures, work instruction for workshop activities
• Provide workshop services in plant e.g. repair control in-situ, flange re-facing, structure etc
• Follow / use SAP to manage notifications, work orders, parts ordering, and job history recording.
• Conduct on the job training and mentoring of local national discipline staff in the safe and efficient maintenance of production assets
• Conduct local national staff assessments and have an input into Mentee training records
• Maintain a flexible and positive attitude (especially with regard to the difficult working environment and highly focussed safety and security procedures)

• Providing timely and quality workshop services to the plant in most cost effective way.
• Work in a challenging and changing environment, displaying core values of Openness and Honesty as well as taking a positive outlook in face various site specific conditions.
• Ability to work with and as well as lead a multi ethnic work force.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Mechanical Engineering Diploma or NCVT or apprenticeship served in a workshop attached to heavy industries.
• Have knowledge of HSSE both in the workshop environment and outside
• Fluent in Arabic and English preferred, although English only will be considered
• Middle East experience
• Minimum 7 years experience in a workshop preferably attached to oil and gas plants
• Expertise in reading engineering drawings, interpreting tolerances and applying them in the execution of jobs.
• Familiar with servicing/repairing various equipment, steel piping/structure fabrication, precision machining and other repair solutions
• Deep knowledge of workshop equipment, applicable tolerances in machining and fabrication etc
• Experienced in the fabrication /machining of components to exact tolerance.
• Mentoring/coaching experience
• Knowledge in the use of SAP in Maintenance activities
• Able to demonstrate understanding of maintenance procedures and planning systems
