The Company:
Our Client is a Global Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The Role:
The project's Duplex Stainless Steel Audit Metallurgist is responsible for:
(1) Leading the metallurgical aspects of and reporting on audits of the project’s proposed Duplex and Super Duplex materials suppliers as required by our client's Engineering Practices (EP's)
(2) Assisting the Materials and Welding Lead Engineer as required in the application of materials engineering to the Project workscope.

Key duties will include:
• Identify Duplex Stainless Steel/Super Duplex Stainless Steel components in packages in conjunction with Package Engineer and the Topsides Quality Engineer responsible for Duplex Stainless Steel audits.
• Risk Assess Duplex Stainless Steel / Super Duplex Stainless Steel (DSS / SDSS) components in packages in conjunction with Package Engineer and the Topsides Quality Engineer responsible for Duplex Stainless Steel audits.
• Carry out the metallurgical aspects of audits of DSS / SDSS suppliers where audits are required.
• Maintain records of the duplex stainless steel audits and records of other items associated with the implementation of the client's duplex audit protocol, the risk assessments and the package’s duplex scope.
• Liaise with the SCM duplex category lead in relation the client’s corporate duplex assurance activities.
• Review DSS / SDSS supplier’s materials engineering related document submittals.
• Assist the Materials and Welding Lead Engineer in other materials engineering related activities associated with the project as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• In-depth knowledge of Materials engineering and in particular the metallurgy and welding of DSS/SDSS.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 29001 would be advantageous.
• Experience of working in materials engineering roles on offshore oil and gas projects is required.
• Knowledge of applicable European Directives especially PED and would be advantageous.
• Good communicator, able to work effectively within an integrated team of staff and contractor personnel.
