With interests in over 20 UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) fields, my Client has one of the most significant exploration and production businesses in the offshore waters of the UK.

The Role:
Position Summary
The Metering Engineer is part of the Aberdeen Maintenance Team and is accountable for providing leadership, direction and to deliver against metering activities on our operated assets. Key to the role is the proactive maintenance of metering plant equipment to a level of repair that is functionally reliable and available on demand. This position provides front line support to the asset and acts as the focal point for metering systems delivery.


Key Accountabilities

Reliability and Uptime improvement:

· Maintain a current state assessment of metering systems and own a live plan to deliver improvement to system performance.
· Maintain the maintenance strategies required to maximise uptime and system reliability.
· Take responsibility for the technical content of the Global Work Management System (GWMS), ensuring there are current and valid preventative maintenance routines to meet the maintenance strategies.
· Maintain a clear understanding of Vendor or Industry issued safety bulletins regarding metering technology or application issues.

Maintenance Excellence delivery:

· Manage the outsourced Metering Support contractor to ensure timely rectification work to resolve metering system faults.
· Own a recommended spares stock list for each system.
· Own and manage support contracts from key system support vendors.

Project and Engineering

· Initiate and comply with the Management of Change process for any needed improvements to maintain system reliability and operability.
· Monitor any Projects changes to controls systems to ensure fit for purpose changes are implemented.
· Ensure the Project Team reflects any changes made within a project in updated maintenance routines.

Activity Planning

· Manage the outsourced Metering Support contractor to ensure forthcoming Vendor activities are arranged in accordance with the Integrated Activity Planning process and activity planning Gate Criteria.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering degree (or equivalent) is essential.
§ Demonstrable commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental performance, his / her behavior is influential in the behaviors of all employees within the Asset.
§ Capable of preparing recertification, operating and maintenance procedures and supervising their implementation. Able to monitor and control meter system performance.
§ Working knowledge of all relevant IP, API, AGA, BS and ISO standards and codes of practice.
§ Familiar with relevant practices and procedures for project management of supply of metering equipment and systems.
§ Experience in the operation and maintenance requirements for liquid and gas metering systems (knowledge of design advantageous).
§ Ability to demonstrate supervisory and management skills.
