The Role:
As a Metocean Engineer, you’ll provide expert advice, support and data analysis on meteorological, oceanographic and climatology processes for diverse regions of the world in support of design and operational activities. You would also:

• Produce design criteria for offshore platforms (fixed, floating systems, response-based) and pipelines using state-of-the art tools.
• Participate in metocean input for project concept, FEED, detailed engineering and the construction stage.
• Specify, scope, contract, and manage offshore and onshore data acquisition requirements.
• Support regional exploration and production operations through conducting ongoing operational oceanography service.
• Participate in metocean joint industry projects and regulatory engagements.
• Develop new technology and tools for metocean and contribute to Metocean and Arctic R&D programs.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A first degree in Mathematics, Science or Engineering with a MSc. degree in Oceanography, Meteorology, Ocean Engineering, Hydrodynamics or related subject, you’ll have substantial experience with all types of metocean analysis and standards in the oil and gas processing industry. In addition you should have:

- Experience in studies and detailed metocean support for offshore and onshore oil and gas production facilities including both fixed and floating structures.
- A good understanding of Industry standards with the ability to challenge standards and current metocean practices
- Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team as well and to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
- A good working knowledge of metocean design and operational analysis practices and techniques.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of the Matlab software is an advantage.
