The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:
BIW Layout & Facilities Engineer with experience of EMS Power Trolley systems. The role will be responsible for the development and implementation of feasible cost effective manufacturing Layouts and Facility / Material Handling installations for the L538 body installations currently taking place at JLR Halewood Operations Plant. Keys responsibilities will be as follows:
(1) Manage the design, development and implementation of Body Shop and Material Storage Layouts.
(2) Preparation of Costs, Budgets and Timing Plans.
(3) Co-ordinate the support of Plant Engineering functions with respect to the provision of, Lighting, Mech/Elec Services, Heating & Ventilation, Extraction, Amenities and Civil Works. (4) Provide Layout and Facility support for all Halewood BIW model operations.
(5) Management of Health & Safety including CDM control and implementation.
(6) Ownership of LLDM tools & implementation.
(7) Manage Facility Buy offs and hand over to customer department.
(8) Manage the design, procurement and installation of miscellaneous non process aligned equipment and facilities.
(9) Interface between process engineering / OEMs and PD.

(6) Ability to use 3d FactoryCAD or AutoCAD package.
(7) Ability to use windows Microsoft based computer package systems such as, excel, word, PowerPoint, etc.
(8) Ability to setup and run effective meetings & buy off events with cross functional team members.

Skills Preferred:
Additional Personal Characteristics
(1) Ability to work in a fast moving/changing environment.
(2) Flexible in both working location (All JLR Sites) and in time.
(3) Have a safe working mind set with the ability to: (i) be able to review Vendor Method Statements & Risk Assessments. (ii) be able to carryout Risk Assessments and generate Method Statements for in house works.

Experience Required:
Knowledge and Experience an ideal candidate will have are substantive experience in a Facilities and Layout role, with :-
(1) Proven layout and project management experience in Body Construction installation programs.
(2) A sound engineering and manufacturing background.
(3) A working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation, particularly CDM Regulations.
(4) An understanding of Material Handling systems.
(5) Knowledge of Group Product Development System (GPDS).

Experience Preferred:
Additional beneficial experience would be: (1) An understanding of Bodyshop processes and equipment. (2) A working knowledge of JLR processes and in house practices.

Education Required:
A relevant engineering degree is not essential but would be an advantage, as would time served in related engineering disciplines apprenticeship

Education Preferred:
NEEBOSH certificate is not essential but would be an advantage

Additional Information :
The BIW Layout & Facilities role is based on a standard 40hr week, includes overtime and weekend work.
