The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia.

The Role:
On site: member of a multifunctional execution project team responsible for planning, coordination, field supervision and construction input relating to all pipelines construction / installation activities associated with the projectUpstream development, including interfaces with downstream personnel. In Perth: member of HES team which manages environmental issues across the Upstream Project The export trunkline system comprises a 225km, 44” diameter pipeline from the offshore processing facility to shore with a shore crossing based on a 1.2 km x 2.5m OD microtunnel. Reporting to the Microtunnel client Company Rep/PIC when on site, this individual has responsibility for the environmental management of the shore crossing microtunnel construction scope of work onsite at the Ashburton North site. In addition, this individual will have a responsibility for the environmental aspects of the marine scope associated with the tunnel boring machine (TBM) removal offshore. Specific Roles and Responsibilities include: Responsibilities of the On site Environmental advisor for microtunnel contract include: • Ensuring Contractor is managing the onshore and nearshore environmental scopes of microtunneling activities as per the contract and regulatory requirements • Provides timely and accurate environmental advice to CVX microtunnel site team and Contractors regarding project environmental commitments and requirements. • Review and implement relevant Wheatstone Environmental Management Procedures and ensure Microtunnel Contractor’s procedures and operations are compliant • Responsible for alignment of CVX and Contractor environmental impact mitigation strategies. • Participate in risk assessments eg HAZID workshops /JHA’s • Interface for onshore quarantine issues and nearshore introduced marine pest management and vessel approvals, including risk assessments and documentation • Undertakes marine fauna observations if required • Undertake Microtunnel Contractor environmental reviews, inspections and audits, including pre-mobilisation vessel audits and compliance audits and assuring timely close out of action items • Participates in incident reporting, investigation and corrective action management. • Reports and participates in the investigation of environmental incidents and near misses in area of responsibility • Ensuring timely and complete Contractor routine reporting • Reviews Microtunnel Contractor’s environmental performance and communicates with necessary stakeholders • Interface with Downstream Environment teams General Environment Applications • Maintains lines of clear communications between client personnel and Microtunnel Contractor workforce (including regular attendance of contractor toolbox and pre-start meetings) • Co-ordinates any environmental training and mentoring to CVX Microtunnel Site team, Microtunnel Contractors as required • Provides input to other functional Wheatstone departments (e.g. commercial, procurement, construction, quality, HES) with respect to environmental management. • Identify and support opportunities for the integration of IIF program / culture into Contractors’ work program and Upstream Project especially as it pertains to Environment (no environmental incidents, minimized environmental impact). Demonstrate leadership and participation in raising and improving workforce awareness of environmental requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Tertiary education, environmental professional
3+ years with on site experience, ideally within the Oil and Gas industry or large major capital projects. Experience in Chevron systems would be an advantage.
Good verbal/written communication skills, problem solving skills, ability to manage conflict and work collaboratively. Visible demonstration of commitment to development and maintenance of a comprehensive HSE culture. Ability to work under pressure unsupervised
Defensive and 4WD training / TBOSIET / White Card
Length of assignment is 12 months, charge code 130096, position number 71028. Position will be based in the Perth office from Nov 2011 until mobilisation approx April 2013. 9 hour day with CWW while in Perth. 2/2 roster on site will apply with 11 hour days. Person may be required to work night shift, work over roster or come into the Perth office during their time off. Please liaise with Kate Skidmore for this role.
