The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
The Mechancial Commissioning Engineer will ensure the EPC contractors pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of static mechanical equipment and piping deliverables meet project specifications.

Within this role the encumbant will work with the EPC Contractor as a key member of the project commissioning team and operations to assure a safe, timely and trouble free start-up of the LNG plant.

The Mechanical Commissioning Engineer's major objectives are to assist with and ensure that the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up decisions are accurately aligned with the original EPC contract and operating within the constraints of AS/NZA and Client standards and expectations.

Operating within this role you will support the Midstream Commissioning Manager and LNG Facilities Engineering Team as and when required.

This role is based in Gladstone, Queensland, Australia.

The position may demand operating unsocial hours to ensure effective operation of plant.

Intermittent travel to other QGC sites may also be required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Demonstrable experience in the verification of mechanical/piping pre-commissioning and commisioning elements of LNG Projects to ensure that client's technical performance and integrity requirements are met;
The ability to provide equipment and piping assessments by analysing, diagnosing and using professional judgement and experience on similar projects;
Assist in identification of risks and eliminate or implement mitigation measures;
Familiarity with introduction and enforcement of QA/QC processess;
Establish maintenance schedules and plans for mechanical equipment
Capable of transfering process and mechanical technical knowledge to plant operations and engineering support staff
Develop and maintain effective liaison with the EPC contractor and the other QGC functions, e.g. HSSE, Operations, Process, Electrical departments as part of developiong robust and optimized solutions and programs
Knowledge of International codes and standards in the Oil & Gas Processing Industry

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering - Chartered Engineer Status (or equivalent)
A proven record of mentoring, coaching, and influencing others to achieve desired results within both formal and informal environments
Specific knowledge of LNG Maintenance Equipment and Piping Systems
Experience of working on significant assignments (especially hydrocarbon) on process plants
Possess extensive working knowledge of equipment dynamics, hydraulic amd heat transfer analysis, testing and auditing to interface with technical specialists within these areas
Operational and start-up experience
