The Company:
based in Milton Keynes, specialises in the design, engineering and build of Formula One cars for a Championship winning team.

The Role:
This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of our highly skilled team working at the pinnacle of Formula One. My Client is looking to recruit a talented Engineering Software Developer to develop and support its range of bespoke in-house analysis tools.

Working in Milton Keynes you will be part of a small team and provide key software tools to the aerodynamics and structures departments. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in rapid focussed development of transformative tools for highly demanding internal customers, focussed on improving speed, correlation, quality and robustness.

My Client requires an engineer who is educated to Masters or PhD level in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent with extensive experience in the development of CFD and/or FEA software and excellent software development skills (ideally in C++). Ideal candidates will also be experienced in agile software development, developing software for Linux and Windows and familiar with scripting languages - particularly BASH and python.

The team works on a diverse range of projects, so experience with some of the following is essential:

- Development of parallel software, using OpenMP, MPI, CUDA, threads
- Building scalable web services
- Hadoop, HBase, Spark, Strom, Solr, Boost
- User interface development with Qt
- Graphical software development with OpenGL
- C#, .NET and creating managed wrappers to C++ code
- Software interfacing with relational databases, database replication
- Interfacing software to, and development in matlab and simulink
- Race telemetry systems

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Masters or PhD level in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent
- You should be self-motivated and proactive, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work to very tight deadlines within a dynamic team environment, often with minimal supervision.
