The Role:
Assignment title: MODU STRUCTURAL/NAVAL ENGINEER (MARINE HULL)
Contract Period: Start: 01.01.2014 End: 31.12.2015
Option period: 1 x 1 Years

Assignment description:
Statoil’s MODU New Builds group (MNB), a project group responsible for development and project management for Mobile Offshore Drilling Units New build program, has currently a high workload with studies for customized design development and technical support/contract follow up of rig new builds for operation in NCS waters.
We are seeking the following candidates
MODU STRUCTURAL/NAVAL ENGINEER (MARINE HULL)

The Structural/Naval Engineer will have following responsibilities and tasks:
Responsible engineer in site team for follow up and check of structural/naval issues according to design basis and contract requirements.
Ensure the structural/naval design is in accordance with Norwegian authority/class/flag state and Contract requirements.
Member of the MODU Newbuild group and responsible for coordinating for structural and naval issues in the project
Participate in MC and commissioning of equipment and systems within the discipline
Secure optimal solutions within project goals and execution plan.
Risk identification input and project verifications according to MODU project execution model.


Language requirements: English fluent oral and written

Workplace: South-Korea

An initial start-up period in Stavanger, Norway may be required as well as for a limited period of time during the assignment.

Candidate(s) nominated to the above position(s) may be considered relevant for similar position(s) in other international projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
University degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Documented experience and good understanding of Norwegian and international legislation within the above mentioned systems on floating drilling units
Design require:
Documented experience and good understanding of design requirements for mobile drilling unit (MODU)
Documented project experience from similar new build projects
