The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The role of Module Project Engineer has wide ranging responsibilities within the business and requires high drive to deliver products on time and to budgets. It will give the successful applicant a wide ranging exposure within our client to senior management and offers good career development opportunities for successful candidates. Specifically the candidate will: Provide support to the Architectural Module Leader for specific programme(s); Taking inputs from Programme Direction document, programme requirements & plans and attribute teams. Manage agreement of system specifications, ensuring compatibility with & leveraging support from Braking Programme Attribute Team & Brakes Integration teams. Manage cost estimate generation to support agreed specifications, creating and submitting required documentation on component piece costs, vendor tooling and Design and Development costs. Cross check with costs from programme approval documents throughout the programme. Create and own initial the Bill of Material for Brakes system (BOM) and maintain for cost and BOM validation. Plan & chair effective Module meetings, building effective relationships with module team members. Coordinate and influence a cross-functional team to deliver, often without direct responsibility for the team members. Build, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Be the primary interface to the Programme Leader Programme Management Team (PL PMT) meetings for nominated programmes. Be the primary interface to the Programme Leader Advanced Product Creation (PL APC) meetings for nominated platform. Manage Deliverables completion and robust handover of APC programmes from Programme Start (PS) to the core Programme Lead Engineer. Manage team members to achieve Engineering deliverables gateway requirements, track and report progress on nominated programmes. Report programme status / plans at Brakes management reviews and Directors reviews. Collate data to input into reports and metrics for the programme, including health status data. Produce reports for delivery to the PLs for nominated programmes. Capture issues and track progress, reporting these to the Architecture Module Leader. Lead issue resolution; guide the team. Respond to ad hoc requests for reports and information from the PL Track and report performance against time, quality and cost targets, flagging risks to these early. Support the Architecture Module Leader in liaising with other functions (e.g., Manufacturing Engineering (AME) and purchasing) to ensure timely input from them.

Skills Required:
Project Management High drive, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision. Good leadership and influencing skills. Able to communicate confidently at all levels within the business and the supply base. Engineering complex mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. Understanding of automotive chassis and braking systems. Confident in the application of FTEP quality and reliability disciplines, particularly FMEA. Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure. Good PC skills and must be IT literate. UK Full Cat B driving licence (or equivalent)

Skills Preferred:
Experience of Automotive new model activities -concept to launch environment.
Preferably in the role of project leader or commodity/system leader or similar.

Experience Required:
Working with an Automotive OEM or large Tier 1 in a Brakes development role Planning and delivery of complex multi-disciplinary projects in an automotive mechanical or electronics environment using a Gateway based process.

Experience Preferred:
Prior or Current experience working to GPDS / PCDS and using eFDVS / RMDV
Successful delivery of Brakes engineering module for an automotive OEM
Considerable experience in an automotive engineering or development environment

Education Required:
Educated to degree level, or equivalent, in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.

Education Preferred:
Masters in Engineering or Business
