A newly established and rapidly growing engineering service company situated in Europe, created by former engineers of a very well established OEM who are developing the company to compete internationally, mainly focusing on the automotive industry.

Currently, this client are working with some of the best car manufacturers in the world, specialising in complex assignments and offer excellence in development and integration of systems and attributes for complete vehicles.

The Role:
Our client works with exciting and challenging assignments within Research & Development with a number of car manufacturers around the world.

A Powertrain Systems Module Project Lead is now required to work on an exciting and challenging Fuel & Cooling Systems project for a world leading Automotive OEM, which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced.

The primary purpose of this role is to work closely with the Fuel & Cooling Systems Core Engineering and manage the delivery of all client programs that have Fuel & Cooling Systems content.

As a Powertrain Systems Module Project Lead your daily duties and responsibilities will involve (But are not limited to):

• Act as the UK face and single point of contact for the client.
• Responsible for the delivery of Cooling systems into vehicle programmes.
• Liaise with core Powertrain engineering team and vehicle programme team to agree system targets (quality, function, cost, weight) and define system content.
• Work with core engineering Component Teams, Suppliers and CAD team to manage delivery of the Cooling System on time, to agreed targets and within budget (Investment, resource and ET&D).
• Lead the quality planning activities including system FMEA and quality history.
• Report out to the rest of the business on the project status and ensure compliance with all GPDS, SDS and APQP requirements.
• Drive Module Leader meetings to understand and document key decisions to resolve issues in the delivery of the system.
• Manage the resolution of technical issues through the AIMs system.
• Ensure System strategy and project target conflicts are resolved, agreed and documented.
• Ensure the system validation plan meets appropriate programme gateways and monitor progress against the plan.
• Manage the System costs to ensure programme targets are met
• Develop and manage system delivery plans to ensure programme milestones are met.
• Coordinate engineering support for the various builds throughout the delivery of the programme.
• Work with Advance Product Creation team, Vehicle Packaging and Technical Specialist to develop feasible design assumptions for future fuel systems.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful Powertrain Systems Module Project Lead will have demonstrable experience within the following:

-Handling projects within Powertrain Systems throughout the entire process, a very much "Projects Focused" individual
-Experience/knowledge of Catia V5 packages (understand and able to interrogate CAD)
-Degree qualified in relevant discipline
-Self motivated and adaptable to changing demands.
-Sound understanding of the Design and Development Process
-Working knowledge of GPDS.
-Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Project Management
-Able to demonstrate ability to plan and deliver components or systems from concept to production.
-Able to demonstrate experience of managing suppliers.
-Good working knowledge of JLR IT systems – WERS, eFDVS, AIMS.
-Current Driving Licence.

A good team player with strong communication skills is essential

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Powertrain Systems experience.
Knowledge of PTSE Component/System design.
Development experience and/or awareness.
Experience and working knowledge of FMA processes.
Able to demonstrate ability to plan and deliver components or systems from concept to production
