The Company:
A Major Operator

The Role:
Part of the team responsible for the hull steel, deck primary steel, motion analysis and mooring system.
This will be one of 4 engineers for the mooring group.
This person will be responsible for delivery of all equipment under their specific area.
This role could potentially be involved with the tender (depending on timing of getting someone in the role and the tender going out).
Floating production system Mooring Package Engineer needed for deepwater GoM greenfield development.
Candidate should be familiar with offshore floater mooring system principles and application.
Must be able to: identify and manage HSSE risks, prepare technical documents for request for quotations for steel mooring components (chains & jewelry)
Interface with multiple groups (Contracting & Procurement, Quality, Logistics, etc…)
Work jointly with Mooring System Delivery Lead during bidder selection process to derive a recommendation, attend kick-off and pre-production meetings, monitor progress against manufacturing schedule to ensure delivery date is maintained,
Review FAT procedures and attend FATs where deemed necessary, review and comment final documentation.
Familiar with most of discipline's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of complicated tasks while effectively managing the interfaces.
May lead and direct the work of others.
Demonstrate breadth in applying skills to different project phases and working knowledge / experience in other related disciplines.
Resolves highly complex technical issues and provides technical assurance in areas of discipline expertise. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Requires minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant technical field and may have an advanced degree and/or 7-11 years of experience in applying the discipline skill(s) to oil gas projects.
Position is Houston based with periodic travel to supplier locations.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Candidate preferably has at least a MS in Naval Architecture or related engineering discipline and 7+ years industry experience.
Knowledge of steel component manufacturing is preferred.
